Lessons

Welcome to my Out in the Field Lessons and Adventures Page

  • In all of these Lessons and Adventures we always start with in-camera setup, where we learn to setup your camera's white balance, advance color settings and pictures styles, ISO and aperture.
  • You will learn how to control your aperture and shutter speed and how to create and control depth of field.
  • You will also learn how to control the temperature of your color using your white balance and how to lighten and darken your images using exposure compensation.
  • We will continue by learning how to use circular polarizers and graduated split neutral density filters to balance light.
  • I will also teach you how to use your eye and create better compositions and bigger depths of field to create more dynamic images.
  • You will learn to do this in your camera, on the spot. My lessons are very hands on always entirely out in the field.
  • Once you have signed up, you get a detailed class email that lists everything you need to get ready for your Class and Adventure including a gear list, lodging options and recommendations and more.

You will meet a great group of other photographers and make some lifelong friends along the way. We always learn a lot and have a fantastic time. Click on the title of the lesson for more information.

If you prefer you can call the Edmonds Gallery at 425-582-0803 to schedule your class, or you can add it to your shopping cart within each lesson at the bottom.

Come on out and join us for a Local Lesson or a Big Adventure!!

Randall J Hodges Photography Lesson & Adventure Refund Policy

If you schedule your class prior to 6 weeks out of the class date, you will be asked to put down a deposit of 1/2of the class fee to hold your spot. This fee is non-refundable and guarantees your spot in your lesson or adventure. In the event you have to cancel, and we are still over 6 weeks out, I will transfer your deposit to another class, as long as I can fill your spot. If we are within 6 weeks you will lose your deposit. 6 weeks before the lesson you will be asked to pay your remaining fee. Once paid your entire fee becomes non-refundable. In the event you still have to cancel I will make every effort to get a new student to take your spot. If I am successful, we will move your fee to another lesson or adventure, if I am not successful in filling your spot you will lose your class fee.

If you are scheduling a local lesson, you will be required to pay the entire fee at once to reserve that date and your fee becomes non-refundable. However, if you have to cancel and I'm able to replace your spot, you will be given a class credit to apply to a different class. If I'm unable to replace your spot you will lose your class fee.

Weather: All of my seminars are held no matter what mother nature says or does. No refunds are issued for weather. The Wallace Falls Classes are scheduled during winter months. In the event of very bad weather, at my discretion, I will offer a reschedule to another date if I deem the weather is to bad or unsafe for a lesson.

Now that we got that out of the way, let's get out there and have a great Lesson or Big Adventure!!
